Elon Musk has confirmed reductions to X’s election integrity team, which claims to take a role in mitigating election interference on the platform.

Musk addressed the cuts on X, stating, “Oh you mean the “Election Integrity” Team that was undermining election integrity? Yeah, they’re gone.”

While the exact number of employees affected remains undisclosed, initial reports from The Information suggest at least four members, including team leader Aaron Rodericks, were impacted.

This move contrasts with X’s recent announcement about expanding its safety and elections team to tackle platform manipulation and other potential threats. In August, the platform had praised its Civic Integrity policy designed to maintain safety standards and curtail election meddling.
