The United States believes with high confidence that its recent strikes in Iran have successfully destroyed key Iranian nuclear facilities housing enriched uranium.
Some shit you should know before you read: If you’re unaware, over the weekend the United States launched a series of coordinated airstrikes targeting Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, specifically hitting three major sites: Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. These locations are central to Iran’s uranium enrichment and nuclear development efforts, with Fordow notably built deep beneath a mountain to withstand conventional attacks. To penetrate such fortified structures, the US deployed heavy bombers equipped with Massive Ordnance Penetrators—also known as “bunker-buster” bombs—capable of delivering high-impact strikes against deeply buried facilities. The operation also included the use of precision-guided cruise missiles aimed at crippling Iran’s nuclear capabilities.

What’s going on now: During an interview on Good Morning America, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt emphasized the Trump administration’s confidence in the success of its weekend strikes on Iran’s nuclear program. “We are confident, yes, that Iran’s nuclear sites were completely and totally obliterated, as the president said in his address to the nation on Saturday night,” Leavitt stated.
She added, “And we have a high degree of confidence that where those strikes took place is where Iran’s enriched uranium was stored. The president wouldn’t have launched the strikes if we weren’t confident in that. So this operation was a resounding success.”
General Dan “Razin” Caine, Chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, provided a more measured perspective, stating that while the final assessment would take time, he confirmed that all “three sites sustained extremely severe damage and destruction.”
This comes amid reports indicating that Iran may have moved equipment and enriched uranium out of at least one facility, Fordow, in the days leading up to the strikes. More on that soon.
