Former President Donald Trump has confirmed there’s a “good chance” he’ll announce his running mate at the Republican National Convention in July.

In a recent interview with Scripps News’s Charles Benson, Trump was asked if he would reveal his vice presidential pick at the convention in Milwaukee. Trump indicated a strong possibility, saying, “That’s probably a pretty good chance, I would say. I don’t say anything’s 100 percent, but you’re getting pretty close. I’ll be doing it in Milwaukee, we’ll be — we’re gonna have a great time.”

As Trump is now the presumptive nominee, attention is turning to potential vice presidential candidates. Among those being considered are figures who participated in the primary, such as North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum and Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina. Other possible candidates include Rep. Elise Stefanik from New York, Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders, and Senators JD Vance from Ohio and Marco Rubio from Florida.

South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem was previously a leading contender but has faced setbacks due to a controversial story in her forthcoming book. Former Vice President Mike Pence, who ran against Trump this cycle, has made it clear he will not support Trump for another term.

The Republican National Committee will hold the GOP convention in Milwaukee in mid-July. Trump emphasized the strategic importance of the state, stating, “We’re bringing the convention to Milwaukee. It really is an important state for us. Wisconsin has to be won by us.”
