Google has suspended live traffic features in its Maps and Waze apps in Israel.
This decision was made following a request from the Israeli military, citing the “safety of local communities.” In addition, reports have been circulating that the move also stemmed from the movement of Israeli military equipment, usually consisting of large, slow-moving convoys.
In an official statement, a Google representative mentioned, “As we have done previously in conflict situations and in response to the evolving situation in the region, we have temporarily disabled the ability to see live traffic conditions and busyness information.”
