The White House has confirmed that the B-2 bomber pilots who carried out strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities will be honored at the July 4 celebration in Washington, DC.

Getting into it: According to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, the pilots who flew the B-2 bombers during the recent strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities will attend the White House’s July 4 celebration in Washington, D.C. Leavitt confirmed their invitation in a statement on Monday, noting that President Trump looks forward to honoring their service during the nation’s Independence Day festivities.

She emphasized the significance of their role in what she described as a “decisive and successful” mission, adding that the celebration would feature a flyover of the same state-of-the-art aircraft used in the operation, including F-22s, F-35s, and B-2s. Additional personnel from Whiteman Air Force Base, where the bombers are stationed, are also expected to attend.

President Trump first hinted at the invitation during an interview with Maria Bartiromo on Fox News’ Sunday Morning Futures, where he praised the pilots for their extraordinary bravery and precision. “Yes, they’re going to come to the White House,” Trump confirmed when asked if he planned to honor them. He also described their mission in detail, highlighting the pilots’ ability to hit targets “half the size of a refrigerator door” from 50,000 feet in a bomber.
