According to new polls in two key battleground states that could shape the outcome of the 2024 presidential election, Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump are now neck-and-neck in Nevada and Michigan.
Nevada polling: In Nevada, recent polling from Noble Predictive Insights (NPI) shows Vice President Kamala Harris holding a small lead over former President Donald Trump, with 48% support compared to Trump’s 47% among likely voters in a two-way matchup. In a four-way race that includes Green Party candidate Jill Stein and Libertarian candidate Chase Oliver, both Harris and Trump are tied at 47%. The polling was conducted between September 9-16.
Michigan polling: In Michigan, recent polls conducted by USA Today and Suffolk University reveal that Vice President Kamala Harris leads former President Donald Trump by a small margin of 48% to Trump’s 45% among likely voters, though this lead falls within the poll’s margin of error of 4.4%. The poll also highlights a sharp gender divide, with Harris garnering strong support from female voters (56% to 37%) while Trump is favored by male voters (54% to 39%). Independent voters in Michigan are almost evenly split, with a slight preference for Trump (42% to 41%).
This development comes as both the Harris and Trump campaigns are focusing significant resources on Michigan and Nevada, recognizing these states as crucial battlegrounds that could determine the outcome of the 2024 election. With their combined 21 electoral votes, Michigan (with 15 electoral votes) and Nevada (with six electoral votes) are pivotal in the path to victory for either candidate.
