Top US official reacts: While announcing the aid package in Kyiv, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said, “Support for Ukraine will endure because it doesn’t depend on any one country, any one party, any one election. We’ve seen Russia now pursue and indeed escalate its attacks inside Ukraine, on civilians, on energy infrastructure, as well as on the Ukrainian military that’s defending its country.”

UK also announces package: While in Ukraine with Secretary Blinken, UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy also announced a $785 million package for Ukraine. According to Lammy, the aid would help Ukraine’s “energy and stabilization needs, as well as support for reform, recovery and reconstruction. He also noted that the UK was working to increase the speed of delivery of weapons and munition deliveries to Ukraine.

Zelensky reacts: In a statement, Ukrainian President Vololdmyr Zelensky said, I am grateful for the unwavering support of our independence, Ukraine’s defense, and the protection of our people’s lives.”
