Various world leaders are reacting to the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania. Here’s what they’re saying:
Argentina:
President Javier Milei blamed the “international left“ for the attempt, accusing them of resorting to terrorism out of fear of losing elections.
Australia:
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese called the incident concerning and confronting, emphasizing that violence has no place in the democratic process.
Brazil:
President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said the shooting “must be strongly condemned by all defenders of democracy and political dialogue. What we saw today is unacceptable.”
China:
President Xi Jinping expressed “compassion and sympathy” for former President Trump. The foreign ministry added, “China is closely following the situation surrounding the shooting of former President Donald Trump.”
El Salvador:
President Nayib Bukele condemned the assassination attempt, he said, “There is no place for violence in a democracy.”
France:
President Emmanuel Macron wished Trump a speedy recovery and labeled the attack a tragedy. He added, “This is a tragedy for our democracies. France shares the shock and indignation of the American people.”
Hungary:

India:
