According to Reuters, citing sources, French regulators are preparing to charge Nvidia with anti-competitive behavior, marking a significant first move against the chip manufacturer.
The reported charges stem from raids carried out last September, targeting Nvidia as part of a broader cloud computing investigation. As the leading producer of chips for AI and computer graphics, Nvidia has seen a surge in demand for its products.

While Nvidia has not publicly commented on the report, the company acknowledged in a previous earnings call that officials from France, China, and the EU had requested information on its graphics cards. In addition, the Department of Justice is also probing Nvidia in partnership with the Federal Trade Commission.
Facing antitrust probes, Nvidia could be fined up to 10% of its global annual revenue under French law, though companies can negotiate concessions to reduce penalties.
