Republican lawmakers have descended onto New York City in support of former President Donald Trump as he faces his hush money trial.
Senators JD Vance (R-OH), Tommy Tuberville (R-AL), and Representative Nicole Malliotakis (R-NY) made appearances. The three were seen seated together in the courtroom, approximately ten feet behind Trump. Last week, Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) also joined the group.

The trial has become a focal point for Trump’s allies to express their support, with no restrictions placed on them regarding public statements about the case. This freedom has led to some openly criticizing the credibility of witnesses and the judge involved in the trial. Senator Scott has notably accused the judge’s daughter of being a Democratic operative, alleging her involvement compromises the judge’s neutrality.
Vance’s presence was especially significant, amid speculations about his potential vice-presidential candidacy alongside Trump in the upcoming elections. In a recent interview, Vance reiterated Trump’s assertions that the charges against him are politically motivated, stating, “This is not about law and this is not about justice.”
