Republican Senator Marsha Blackburn has called for retaliatory strikes against Iran after Tehran’s recent military aggression against Israel.
Blackburn, expressing her concerns via the social media platform X, highlighted the urgency of a forceful response: “Iran has begun launching drone strikes on Israel. @POTUS — we must move quickly and launch aggressive retaliatory strikes on Iran.”

This comes as the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) are on high alert, with spokesperson Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari describing Iran’s actions as a “severe and dangerous escalation.” Hagari added, “Our defensive and offensive capabilities are at the highest level of readiness ahead of this large-scale attack from Iran. This is a mission that we are determined and ready to fulfill.”
Further complicating the situation, NSC Spokesperson Adrienne Watson commented on the expected duration of Iran’s offensive, noting that it might continue for several hours.
This follows a preceding incident where an Israeli strike targeted the Iranian embassy compound in Damascus on April 1, killing two high-ranking officers of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
