Department of Defense investigators tasked with investigating the Tower 22 drone attack that killed three US soldiers and injured 40+ believe that Kataib Hezbollah, an Iran-backed militia, was involved in the attack.

Kataib Hezbollah, which emerged in the early 2000s, has been implicated in violence across Iraq and is known to receive support from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The attack on the US military installation, known as Tower 22 near Syria, is believed to have been executed with Iranian-supplied weapons. Despite this, the Iranian government has denied any involvement and has claimed it has no control over militias in the region.
