During the ceremony, broadcasted by state television, Khamenei honored Mousavi’s dedication, praising “this martyr’s tireless struggle” and anticipating his ascent to a divine guardianship.
Major General Hossein Salami, the chief commander of the IRGC, praised Mousavi as one of the most “seasoned and influential commanders in the resistance,” vowing retribution. He said, “Our revenge for the martyrdom of Sayyed Razi will be nothing less than the removal of the Zionist regime.” He also expressed a wish for the obliteration of Israel’s geographical and political presence by Hamas.
The funeral also included chants of “Death to America, Death to Israel” from the mourners.
The Israeli military, maintaining its usual stance, refrained from commenting directly on Mousavi’s death but reiterated its commitment to national defense.
