Sergei Shoigu, while in Tehran, emphasized the growing bond between the two nations, stating, “We are aiming at an entire range of planned activities, despite opposition from the United States and its Western allies.”

He further commented that the sanctions imposed on Russia and Iran have proven ineffective, with the collaboration between the two nations only deepening.

Adding to the depth of his Tehran visit, the Russian Defense Minister also inspected Iran’s military at the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Aerospace Force. According to reports by Iran’s Tasnim news agency, Shoigu engaged with the head of the Revolutionary Guards Aerospace Force, Amirali Hajizadeh, where he was presented with an exhibition of Iran’s “drones, missile and air defense systems.”
