Turkey captures senior ISIS leader alive

Turkish security forces have announced the capture of a senior leader.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said the country’s forces captured Bashar Hattab Ghazal (Abu Zeyd), an ISIS commander, after an operation was carried out by Turkey’s intelligence agency. President Erdogan added that “In his interrogation, Abu Zeyd stated that he was a so-called ‘qadi’ [judge] of the so-called ministry of education and ministry of justice. This terrorist’s connections in Syria and Istanbul had been followed for a long time, and intelligence information was obtained that he would enter Turkey illegally.”
