The Indian Air Force has terminated three military officers after a missile was accidentally fired into Pakistan earlier this year.
In a statement, the Indian Air Force said “A Court of Inquiry, set up to establish the facts of the case, including fixing responsibility for the incident, found that deviation from the Standard Operating Procedures by three officers led to the accidental firing of the missile.”
The statement from the Indian Air Force comes after a BrahMos missile (a nuclear-capable land-attack cruise missile) was fired on March 9th into Pakistan, prompting tensions to rise between the two countries. The rocket landed near the city of Mian Channu, roughly 310 miles from Pakistans capital.
