Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (RFK), who will likely have a significant role in President-elect Donald Trump’s administration, has called for the removal of “entire departments” within the FDA.
What he said: Following former President Donald Trump’s victory, RFK said, “In some categories … there are entire departments, like the nutrition department at the FDA … that have to go, that are not doing their job, they’re not protecting our kids.” RFK said his goal was “to eliminate the agencies, as long as it requires congressional approval, I wouldn’t be doing that. I can get the corruption out of the agencies, it’s what I’ve been doing for 40 years.”

A potential role?: When asked what his role would be in a Trump administration, RFK said, “We don’t know what I’m going to do. I talked to the president about it yesterday, and he asked me what I wanted, and I said, we’re developing a proposal now.”

More on RFK: Kennedy, known for his anti-vaccination stance and criticism of “Big Pharma,” advocates for non-traditional health practices, including alternative therapies and natural remedies. He previously blamed the FDA for stifling health innovations are linked to holistic practices.
Kennedy also has strong views on vaccinations, which has raised concern among some healthcare professionals who say that his views are “dangerous.”
