Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) won reelection in Georgia’s solidly conservative 14th District against Democrat Shawn Harris.

Quick takes from the RNNBS Team:

Greene easily retained her seat in Georgia’s 14th District, a reliably Republican area where Trump won by a large margin in 2020.

Democrat Shawn Harris, her opponent and a retired Army general, received far less financial backing than Greene, leaving her with a significant funding advantage ($8.3 million to $2.1 million). This disparity contributed to her straightforward path to reelection.

Digging Deeper: Though not involved in the ousting of former Speaker Kevin McCarthy, Greene has actively challenged current Speaker Mike Johnson, particularly criticizing his compromises with Democrats on budget issues. Her confrontational approach complicates Johnson’s leadership within the GOP and underscores her role as a divisive figure even within her own party.
