A Tennessee lawmaker has warned that there ‘may be blood’ if former President Donald Trump loses the election and does not accept the results.
We shouldn’t be waiting to physically secure the Capitol and this election against possible violence—they should start erecting fences, barricades & other safety measures NOW, before Congress returns.

We know Trump won’t accept the results if he loses and we know he’ll sow… pic.twitter.com/odiRnW45yo
What’s the deal: During an interview with NewsNation, Congressman Steve Cohen (D-TN) said, “But I think Trump won’t stop at anything. It will be in the courts, it will be in litigation. And he will be telling people again to, ‘Go to the Capitol if you want to have a country and fight like hell. There may be blood, and I’m concerned.”

He added, “There could be behavior that’s untoward and violent anytime if Trump doesn’t win. If he claims he wins, and they say he doesn’t win, there could be chaos. And Trump will read it and won’t care about the results.”
Preparations underway?: Ahead of the election, the US government and Capitol Police are ramping up security preparations to address potential unrest around the voting process and subsequent certification of results. High reinforced barriers are being installed around the Capitol, and additional police are being deployed to mitigate threats from bad actors. Additionally, new barricades are being installed around White House executive offices.
Interesting polling: In a recent RNNBS poll on our Instagram, 70% of those respondents (291,373 people) said they were worried about potential unrest following the election.
