A soldier based at Fort Campbell has been charged after taking sexually explicit images and videos of other soldiers and children.
Whitney Shepherd, 34, is facing charges for conspiring with another individual to capture explicit images and videos of children and fellow soldiers without their consent while stationed in Germany. These details come from Army court documents. Shepherd was arraigned on May 29 and pleaded not guilty before Judge Lt. Col. Daniel Mazzone at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, where she serves with the 101st Airborne Division.
Shepherd is charged with three counts of conspiracy, one count of child sexual assault, seven counts of other sexual assaults, and six counts related to child sexual abuse. These incidents reportedly took place in Grafenwoehr, Germany, between late 2022 and early 2023. Shepherd allegedly photographed two female soldiers, a specialist and a private first class, in January and February 2023 as part of a conspiracy with an unnamed individual.
The charges also state that Shepherd distributed these images, which were taken when the women had a reasonable expectation of privacy.
Additionally, Shepherd is accused of conspiring to produce child sexual abuse material by recording a video call with a child in explicit conduct, possessing an iPhone 12 containing such material, and distributing it to another person.
