Lara Trump, the co-chair of the Republican National Committee, said Wednesday evening that debates are always “rigged so heavily” in President Biden’s favor.

In an interview on Fox News’s “Hannity,” Lara Trump expressed confidence in her father-in-law amidst the news of two confirmed presidential debates. She reassured viewers that her father-in-law is prepared for the debates hosted by CNN and ABC News.

Earlier Wednesday, Biden and former President Trump agreed to participate in two presidential debates: the first on CNN on June 27, and the second on ABC on September 10. Lara Trump said, “He is unafraid, and so while the scales are always tipped against him, this is not the first time. So try, though they might, to rig this thing, which, Sean, they will, he is going to come out on top.”

Hannity noted that while Trump has agreed to debate on Fox News, Biden has only agreed to debate on “liberal” outlets. Lara Trump responded, “It’s rigged so heavily in Joe Biden’s favor, but everything always is. You’ve got Hollywood against Donald Trump, you’ve got the music industry against Donald Trump, mainstream media. Despite that, and even the judicial system at this point, he is beating Joe Biden in every poll out there. It’s amazing to see. So if Joe Biden shows up June 27 and doesn’t come up with an excuse, like he has to wash his hair or something, I have full confidence that Donald Trump will outperform him.”

Lara Trump emphasized that despite the perceived disadvantages, her father-in-law is ready for the challenges. “And this year more than ever, with all the lawfare, with all we’ve seen against him — in some crazy way, Sean, they’ve actually prepared him for this moment, because he’s not afraid of anything they throw his way,” she said, referring to the four criminal indictments Trump is facing.

This comes as recent polling from the New York Times/Siena College/Philadelphia Inquirer shows former President Trump leading Biden in five of six swing states among registered voters. However, Democratic pollster Geoff Garin from the Biden campaign cautioned against drawing broad conclusions from one poll, stating, “The reality is that many voters are not paying close attention to the election and have not started making up their minds — a dynamic also reflected in today’s poll.”

In a hypothetical match-up between Trump and Biden, a Hill/Decision Desk HQ national polling average shows the two candidates in a near tie, with Biden leading by a mere 0.3 percentage points, 44.7 percent to 44.4 percent.

Increase in fundraising:
The RNC has also seen a surge in fundraising, with Lara Trump confirming a considerable increase coinciding with Donald Trump’s court appearances. The campaign raised $1.5 million after the first day of jury selection and doubled that amount three days later, accumulating $76 million in April alone. This follows the RNC and Trump raising $65.6 million in March and a record-breaking $50.5 million from a single fundraiser last month.
