Former President Donald Trump has said that Israel is “losing the PR war” in Gaza and they need to “finish what they started fast.”

Speaking to conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt, Trump voiced concern over the images emerging from Gaza and critiquing Israel’s release of footage showing the destruction of buildings. Trump said, “People are imagining there’s a lot of people in those buildings … and they don’t like it, and I don’t know why they released, you know, wartime shots like that. I guess it makes them look tough. But to me, it doesn’t make them look tough. They’re losing the PR war. They’re losing it big. But they’ve got to finish what they started, and they’ve got to finish it fast, and we have to get on with life.”

Trump emphasized the urgency of concluding the war swiftly, stating, “They’ve got to finish what they started, and they’ve got to finish it fast, and we have to get on with life.”

The former president has frequently described himself as the most pro-Israel president in US history, notably citing his decision to move the US embassy to Jerusalem as evidence. However, his relationship with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has seen tension, especially after Netanyahu acknowledged Joe Biden’s election victory in 2020. Trump has also recently warned about the potential loss of international support for Israel in a recent interview with the Israeli newspaper Israel Hayom.

Trump also took a swipe at President Joe Biden’s handling of the war in Gaza and claimed that Jews who vote for Democrats “hate Israel.”
