Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant has claimed a significant military success over Hamas in Khan Yunis, reporting substantial casualties and arrests among the group’s ranks.
According to Gallant, the recent operations by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) resulted in the deaths of 10,000 Hamas fighters, with an additional 10,000 wounded, marking a considerable increase from previous figures. This advancement has effectively incapacitated a large portion of Hamas’s operational capacity, estimated to be between 55-75% of its pre-war forces.
The completion of the IDF’s mission in dismantling Hamas’s battalions in Khan Yunis, particularly in its western sector, signifies a critical phase in the conflict, surpassing initial timelines suggested by IDF projections.
Military analysts are also chiming in, saying the move reveals a faster progression in the IDF’s war against Hamas, potentially signaling a shift towards completing their objectives in the region sooner than anticipated.
