9:14AM PST: Source has identified shooter as Mauricio Garcia (we will only reference his name once). Was reportedly a security guard who lived in Dallas, Texas. He lived at his parents home in East Dallas. Death toll still sits at 8, more details to be provided when available.

7:53PM PST:
The representative of the district encompassing Allen, Texas, has stated that the mall shooting, which resulted in eight fatalities, might have been even more tragic if not for the prompt intervention of first responders.

In a Saturday evening press conference, Congressman Keith Self (R) remarked, “We will never know how many lives were saved by the swift actions of our first responders. Collin County Judge Chris Hill, speaking at the conference, expressed anger and frustration about the incident, stating, “We’re angry about those that would do evil in our community and in our backyard.”

7:27PM PST:Allen Police Chief Brian Harvey reported that a police officer who happened to be at the mall for an unrelated matter responded immediately upon hearing the gunshots, and successfully neutralized the assailant. Chief Harvey explained that the officer was at the Allen Premium Outlets addressing a different issue when the fatal incident occurred. He stated, “He heard gunshots, located the gunshots, located the shooter, neutralized the shooter.” The identity of the alleged shooter has not been disclosed by the police.

 

7:03PM PST:EXTREMLY GRAPHIC:We’ve obtained footage moments after police killed the Allen Premium Outlets shooter (located in Allen, Texas). In the video, the shooter can be seen lying on the ground in a pool of blood with what looks to be a gunshot wound to the head.

6:41PM PST Law enforcement: two victims who were transported to the hospital were declared deceased upon arrival.

 

6:22PM PST: Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick has released the following statement: Please join Jan and me in mourning the victims of the unspeakable tragedy in Allen. Please also join us in prayer for the victims’ families and friends along with the residents of Allen. We are grateful for our brave first responders who were deployed to stop the shooter and investigate this hideous crime. We are thankful for their bravery and courage,” he said.

5:48PM PST: Texas Senator Ted Cruz has released the following statement: “Heidi and I are praying for the families of the victims of the horrific mall shooting in Allen, Texas. We pray also for the broader Collin County community that’s in shock from this tragedy.”

5:47PM PST: President Biden has been briefed on the mass shooting in Allen, Texas. In a statement, the White House said they were “closely monitoring the situation and is in touch with law enforcement and local officials to offer support.”

5:23PM PST: According to authorities, age ranges of the victims is between 5-61 years old.

4:29PM PST: Suspect was reportedly wearing tactical gear and was armed with a rifle.

4:27PM PST: Fire Chief says 9 individuals taken to the hospital

3:14PM PST: Suspect has been shot dead by police. Sheriff says there are children among the victims.
