President Donald Trump has warned Hamas to stop carrying out public executions in Gaza or face a response that could result in renewed fighting.

Some shit you should know before you dig in: If you’re unaware, video has been circulating online of Hamas carrying out public executions in Gaza. The chaos stems from growing infighting among rival clans and armed gangs that have filled the power vacuum left by weakened Hamas control during the war with Israel. Tensions boiled over when members of a powerful local clan reportedly kidnapped the child of a Hamas official, resulting in retaliatory attacks by the group. Hamas says those executed were collaborators with Israel, but human rights observers and locals say these actions are being used to reassert dominance and suppress dissent.

Getting into it: President Trump condemned these actions, warning Hamas that continued bloodshed violates the ceasefire terms. “If Hamas continues to kill people in Gaza, which was not the Deal, we will have no choice but to go in and kill them,” Trump posted on Truth Social.

While the initial statement raised alarm about possible U.S. military involvement, Trump later clarified that American forces would not directly intervene in Gaza. “It’s not going to be us. We won’t have to,” he told reporters in the Oval Office. “There are people very close, very nearby that will go in. They’ll do the trick very easily. But under our auspices.”

The surge in internal violence has raised fears that the ceasefire agreement will not hold, as these groups, some allegedly backed by Israeli intelligence, are openly challenging Hamas’ authority.
