X has been hit by a massive cyberattack, causing back-to-back outages for millions of users.

Shortly after Muskโ€™s statement, a hacking group known as Dark Storm claimed responsibility in a Telegram post, boasting that they had successfully taken Twitter offline and sharing a screenshot of the platform’s failed connection attempts across multiple locations worldwide. Dark Storm is known for advanced cyber warfare tactics and has been linked to high-profile cyberattacks.ย ย 

The group, which has a pro-Palestinian agenda, recently pledged to target government websites of NATO countries, Israel, and allied nations. In their post, they framed the attack on X as part of a broader campaign against Western and Israeli digital infrastructure.

Founded in 2023, Dark Storm has rapidly gained a reputation for launching large-scale cyberattacks, often leveraging Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) tactics to overwhelm and disable their targets. Their attacks have previously hit Snapchat, JFK International airport, LAX International Airport, and an Israeli hospital.
