President-Elect Donald Trump has criticized former President Joe Biden’s decision to issue preemptive pardons to Dr. Anthony Fauci, Gen. Mark Milley, members of the Jan. 6 committee, and others.
Some shit you should know before you read: Shortly before Trump took office, former President Joe Biden announced a series of preemptive pardons, shielding public figures, political allies, and family members from what he claims is “potential prosecution” under the incoming administration. Among those pardoned were Dr. Anthony Fauci, former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, who led the nation’s COVID-19 pandemic response; Gen. Mark Milley, former Chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, who had been criticized by Trump allies for his handling of military matters; and members of the House Jan. 6 committee, including former Rep. Liz Cheney, who spearheaded investigations. Biden also extended clemency to US Capitol Police officers and DC Metropolitan Police officers who testified before the Jan. 6 committee. In addition, Biden included members of his own family, such as his brother, James Biden, who faced scrutiny for his business ties.

What’s going on now: President Trump reacted to President Joe Biden’s decision to issue preemptive pardons, calling the move “disgraceful” and accusing Biden of protecting individuals he claims are guilty of serious crimes. In a text to NBC’s Kristen Welker, Trump stated, “It is disgraceful. Many are guilty of MAJOR CRIMES! DJT.” Trump specifically criticized the inclusion of Dr. Anthony Fauci, Gen. Mark Milley, and former Rep. Liz Cheney, accusing them of undermining his presidency and contributing to what he has repeatedly described as politically motivated investigations against him.
In addition to Trump, House Oversight Chairman James Comer said, “President Biden’s preemptive pardons for the Biden Crime Family serve as a confession of their corruption as they sold out the American people to enrich themselves. Our investigation revealed that at least ten members of the Biden Crime Family and their associates raked in over $30 million by selling Joe Biden’s influence to corrupt foreign entities and individuals in China, Russia, Ukraine, Romania, and Kazakhstan. The legacy media should be ashamed of themselves for covering up Joe Biden and his family’s abuse of power, corruption, and obstruction. The American people have seen through the legacy media’s coverup and the Bidens’ lies, and they know the truth: President Biden abused his public office to create a slush fund for his family.”
Comer added, “President Biden will go down as the most corrupt president in US history, and our investigation will be remembered as one of the most successful ever conducted by Congress.”
