Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) has called for an “overwhelming response” from the US after Iran launched a missile attack on Israel.

Let’s bring you up to speed: Earlier today, Iran launched approximately 200 ballistic missiles at Israel, escalating tensions in the region. The strike triggered air raid sirens across Israel, prompting the military to activate its air defense systems. According to the US, the majority of missiles were intercepted, with the Pentagon noting that some missiles had impacts within Israel. The IDF has since lifted all shelter in place orders.

What Senator Graham is saying: In a statement, Senator Graham said, “This missile attack against Israel should be the breaking point and I would urge the Biden Administration to coordinate an overwhelming response with Israel, starting with Iran’s ability to refine oil. These oil refineries need to be hit and hit hard because that is the source of cash for the regime to perpetrate their terror.”

Senator Graham added, “The Ayatollah and Iranian regime are religious Nazis who want to destroy the state of Israel – their words, not mine. They want to purify Islam and attack the United States – again, their words, not mine.”

Rubio Senate Scaled

Another Senator comments: Senator Marco Rubio, a member of the ‘Gang of Eight’ said, “Iran regime wants to destroy Israel so they can become the dominant power in the Middle East. Appeasement will not change their behavior. Only threatening the survival of the regime through maximum pressure and direct and disproportionate measures has a chance to influence and alter their criminal activities.” He added, “A large-scale Israeli retaliatory response inside Iran is certain to follow.”
