Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) has claimed that America is witnessing the “biggest political cover-up” when it comes to President Biden’s health concerns.
In a recent interview on Fox News, Johnson addressed the comments made by former Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), who advised Democrats to “just hold off” on discussing any concerns about President Biden’s health until after the significant NATO summit. In response, Johnson said, “It’s been an incredible thing to watch on Capitol Hill. The Democrats are in total disarray. They don’t know what to do. They don’t have a plan B, but they know they got a serious problem. It’s the biggest political cover-up that we have ever seen, maybe in U.S. history, and it’s the most consequential, as well.”

Johnson also accused the media of complicity in a long-standing “charade” to shield the truth from the American public. He added, “The jig is up. And now everybody can see it.” According to Johnson, the carefully worded statements from key Democratic leaders, such as Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s (D-NY) repeated phrase, “I’m with Joe,” signified a lack of genuine endorsement for Biden’s re-election bid. Johnson pointed out, “It’s open to individual interpretation… They don’t know what to say here. That’s the point, is — they’re really in a bind.”
The interview also touched on the broader implications of the concerns surrounding President Biden’s mental acuity, particularly following a debate on June 27 in which he appeared to lack energy and struggled to communicate clearly.
This performance has fueled ongoing worries among Democrats about Biden’s capacity to compete against former President Trump or manage another four-year term.
