During the Pakistan Day Parade, Pakistan showcased its latest military equipment and announced new defense programs.

The parade featured the unveiling of the Haider platform, which includes the first locally produced, Chinese-designed VT-4 main battle tank. This tank, part of a pilot production batch, represents a step forward in Pakistan’s defense manufacturing, following an agreement with China in 2017 to deliver 300 VT-4 tanks for local assembly.

Among other significant displays was the long-range HQ-9/P surface-to-air missile system, making its first public appearance. This system, supplied by China and operational since 2021, has a range of 125 kilometers. Also on display were the Fatah 2 guided multiple-launch rocket system and the Ababeel ballistic missile, capable of carrying multiple independently targetable reentry vehicles.

Further announcements included initiating the PFX program to develop a successor to the JF-17 combat aircraft and introducing the Fatah 3, soon to enter service, alongside the under-development Fatah 4.
