The World Health Organization says the number of coronavirus deaths and cases has fallen in the last week.
According to the World Health Organization, deaths fell by 15% (14,000 in the past week), and infections dropped by 9% (5.3 million new cases in the last week). They add that numbers of infections and deaths declined across the board in every region except Africa (which had a 183% increase in deaths).
The World Health Organization adds that the decrease in infections and death is “severely underestimated” as many countries have dropped testing protocols to monitor the virus.
