President Joe Biden, speaking to reporters on Tuesday, confirmed he has decided on the US response to a recent drone attack in Jordan that killed American service members.
During his departure from the White House for a campaign trip to Florida, Biden was asked if he had determined how to respond to the attack. He replied “yes,” indicating a decision had been made. However, he did not provide details on the nature or timing of the anticipated response.
When asked by reporters what his response would be, Biden said, “I don’t think we need a wider war in the Middle East. That’s not what I’m looking for.”
The drone attack, executed by Iran-backed militants, occurred near Jordan’s border with Syria, resulting in the death of three U.S. service members and injuries to at least 34 others. When questioned about Iran’s responsibility, Biden said, “I do hold…them responsible in the sense that they’re supplying the weapons” to the militants behind the attacks.
