House Veterans Affairs Committee Chairman Mike Bost is on the verge of issuing a subpoena to the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) due to insufficient details provided regarding sexual harassment allegations within its Office of Resolution Management, Diversity, and Inclusion.
In a letter to the VA, Chairman Bost wrote, “Your team is either negligently, or purposefully, failing to provide the committee with the requested documents. This is unacceptable.” Chairman Bost demanded a more thorough response by Wednesday morning or will discuss issuing a subpoena at a scheduled committee meeting.

The committee’s inquiries began after receiving whistleblower complaints about sexual harassment by managers in the pertinent VA office. Bost disclosed that one whistleblower “received numerous sexually suggestive and aggressive text messages from their senior manager.” The situation escalated after the whistleblower’s rebuffs led to their defamation by the manager. The VA’s response to these public allegations included reassignments within the office and the initiation of an internal investigation, alongside the resignation of Gina Grosso, the VA’s assistant secretary for human resources, a move Bost associates with his ongoing investigation.
Out of 175 documents received, only 32 directly relate to the whistleblower allegations, with the “vast majority” already known to the committee through whistleblowers and other VA employees.
