The Quaker Oats Company has issued a recall for certain granola bars and cereals due to potential salmonella contamination. The company announced the recall on Friday, stating, “We have received no confirmed reports of illness related to the products covered by this recall.”
The products affected by this recall include Quaker Big Chewy Bars Variety Pack and Quaker Chewy Bars and Dipps Variety Pack.
In its announcement, Quaker Oats assured consumers that it had promptly informed the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) about the recall measures. The FDA has subsequently posted details of the recall on its website, a standard practice to inform the public about product recalls, market withdrawals, or safety alerts.
Quaker highlighted the health risks associated with salmonella, noting, “Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.”
